Incorporating Literacy into Articulation Therapy

Scarlett Stamper, the SLP behind The Speech is Sweet Club, will be sharing ways in which you can incorporate literacy skills into articulation therapy. You’ll learn all about the five components of literacy and how you can address them with your articulation students. Indirectly addressing critical reading skills will not only help your students achieve their speech goals, but it will also enable them to gain greater access to the curriculum.

Teacher Collaboration Before and During the Remediation Process

How often does a classroom teacher ask, “what exactly do you do?” or have a student receiving services in their classroom, yet they have no idea why the student attends speech? Teacher (and parent) collaboration it extremely important in a students plan to remediate a skill or a sound and it’s vital to the generalization of that skill. Amanda, from A Perfect Blend, will be sharing easy, stress-free ways to engage teachers in the identification and remediation process.

Creative Hands-On Therapy for Mixed Groups

Claudia Doan, the SLP behind Creative Speech Lab, has years of experience doing just that in school and pediatric clinic settings. Claudia created an ASHA CEU course related to this topic and is the author of the Articulation and Language Theatre for Group Therapy book sets with Northern Speech Services. Engaging Preschool Speech and Language Students with Books

Do you love using books in therapy but aren’t sure how to successfully engage your preschool students? Jen, the SLP from My Speech Universe, is sharing a set of tips and prompts that will allow you to target a variety of speech and language goals while using books. Go beyond just reading the text by inviting your students to assist in the story telling. The prompts demonstrated can be applied to any book that you are planning to use with your students. There is also a freebie that can be sent home to parents to encourage ways for them to read with their children too.

Fluency Therapy from Preschool to Secondary with Tamatha Cauckwell

Do you find it problematic to provide your students who stutter with engaging lessons that not only teach them about the types of stuttering, tools, and techniques to increase speech fluency but also help them to build a positive self-image and confidence in themselves as a communicator? Tamatha Cauckwell, the SLP behind TLC Talk Shop, has worked with students from preschool to high school within the school setting, clinic setting, and as a teletherapist. She will be providing a fluency framework as a guideline to what she targets at each age and stage (preschool-secondary levels) along with tips and suggestions on activities to keep your students that stutter motivated and engaged during therapy.
